Hyatt Regency Dallas

The Hyatt Regency Dallas is a 28-story Y-shaped convention hotel that opened in 1978 alongside Dallas Union Station and Reunion Tower, in Dallas''s Reunion district at the western edge of downtown. The building, designed by Welton Becket & Associates with Woodbine Development Corp. as developer, ran in the opening credits of the long-running TV series Dallas through the show''s entire 1978 to 1991 run. The property received a $50 million renovation in 2013 covering guest rooms, bathrooms, and corridors, and earlier added a 32,000 square foot low-rise Landmark Ballroom in 1998. The convention program runs to 160,000 square feet across 60 named meeting rooms, three ballrooms (Reunion, Cumberland, Landmark), and two exhibit halls. The Reunion Ballroom is the marquee room at 19,400 square feet, divisible into seven sections, and seats up to 2,400 reception. The Cvent listing reports the largest single bookable space at 39,000 square feet, which corresponds to the combined exhibit-hall layout. The closest commercial airport is Dallas Love Field (DAL), 15 to 20 minutes by car, a domestic hub. Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW), an international hub, runs roughly 25 minutes. The hotel attaches to Dallas Union Station, putting the DART Light Rail and TRE commuter line directly beneath the property.
